Excitedly our Pre-Schoolers set out yesterday, for their first visit to Woodlands Tales, taking place at Claverdon Primary Schools’ very own forest school. Luckily it was a bright crisp Autumn morning as we set off on our adventure, a rare gap in the recent rains. Forest School leader, Mrs. Ducksbury, greeted us, having laid on an animal themed morning of activities for everyone to enjoy. An animal story was narrated and afterwards we thought about the animals we might find in our gardens and the foods they might eat. Children made mud paintings of their favourite things and attractive autumn decorations to hang in the trees. The mud kitchen was well equipped with pestle and mortars to crush aromatic foliage and plenty of fragrant mixtures were concocted. It is always a fabulous opportunity for children to explore the outdoor environment, develop a connection with nature and with Claverdon School and the local community. Our thanks to those who helped in facilitating this wonderful opportunity for us.
