Time flies when you are having

Time flies when you're having fun and just like that we've reached half term. It's been a laughter filled first half to the summer term filled with frogs, castles, jubilee celebration and fun. Our pre-schoolers are stretching their muscles in cool sportz, yoga and dough discos; and our younger children enjoying learning ring games and playing with the parachute.

In-between all of the action, we’ve taken time out to continue to explore and understand feelings, help the Colour Monster feel lovely, draw self-portraits and practice our relaxation breathing.

Noah's story box joined us to retell the tale of the Wise Man and the Foolish Man, the children entranced by the story and keen to retell the story with their own construction. Complete concentration and focus as they followed the bear puppets on the tale loving every minute of the session. We always love a show and we've been enjoying the children's performances on stage out in the garden, with tickets on sale via their box office and even interval treats from the mud kitchen, we've had a lovely time. As a treat we welcomed Drama Tots to Stepping Stones, an opportunity to build on the children's own shows giving them all an opportunity to show their stuff and have lots of fun.

Hidden images in the garden proved a huge hit and source of wonder as crayon rubbing revealed letters, shapes and patterns in nature and even on our play equipment, shrieks of 'wow, I can see it', 'look!' could be heard across the garden as the images were found. We've also been enjoying story telling as the children have written and illustrated their own books, with some even publishing sequels, it has been particularly busy in the outside story corner as their books are read aloud to their equally enthusiastic audiences. The excitement continued when we visited the mobile library and took tea with the Queen, taking turns to choose books and read stories.
