A lovely cold and frosty start back, welcoming in the new year and a new term here at Stepping Stones. This week we've taken full advantage of the cold weather and have been exploring the polar regions, winter, light and dark. Beautiful snowflakes have been created using mirrors, and the light table has been transforming primary colours into an array of rainbows. We've been outside creating long shadows in the low winter sunshine, and checking out the planters to see if any of our bulbs have made an appearance. Squeals of 'they're growing' 'I can see two green ones' have been heard as the children have run from tub to tub in the garden to check out progress. After measuring their heights and much deliberation and decision making as to who had the tallest one, we look forward to continuing to watch the bulbs progress as the weather warms up.
