Continuing our exploration into the polar regions, we focused our group learning on Eskimos and Inuits this week as well as learning the penguin dance. We've constructed igloos out of sugar cubes and tried out different methods of breaking ice. The grocery shop was still open this week due to popular demand, with a ‘home’ delivery system implemented using trolleys round the hall. The sunshine was out and we spent lots of time outside investigating polar cloud dough, playing with shadows and using natural materials with play dough. Our usual extra activities of Cool Sportz, Yoga and French were enjoyed; and we even fitted in some time to discuss the water cycle. Next week the ice age is arriving and the dinosaurs are back, inside and out. With help from our jurassic friends we are also going to be talking about how we care for our teeth.
