As the Summer Term begins and sunny days start to shine, it has been simply wonderful to welcome everyone back. The children have returned brimming with bright, bustling stories of their Easter adventures, many involving planes, trains and terrific travels! From bustling buses to soaring aeroplanes and splendid ships we’ve enjoyed stories, songs, small world play and creative exploration, diving into the different modes of transport, sorting, comparing and chatting about how they move across land, air and sea. The children have been curious investigators, discovering what fuels vehicles, how transport supports the jobs people do, and how travel has changed over time. With thoughtful discussions and playful, purposeful activities, we have also begun to explore sustainability, helping the children to understand how we can care for the world around us. It has been wonderful to see their growing confidence as they describe, categorise and make connections.
We are delighted to extend a warm and happy welcome to four new children and their families this term. New beginnings bring a buzz of anticipation, and we look forward to sharing many magical moments together as they settle into our setting.
A particularly special highlight has been welcoming Steph back from maternity leave. It has been fantastic to have her return to our team, and we are so pleased that her baby has settled safely and snugly with their childminder.
Partnership remains at the heart of our setting, and we truly value building positive, purposeful relationships with our parents and the wider community. In May, building on from our Nutrition information morning, we will be hosting a another coffee morning alongside an informative phonics session. This will offer parents simple, supportive strategies to strengthen early reading skills at home, helping to build confident, curious learners.
We would also like to share our sincere thanks to Claverdon Village Children’s Nursery, Wootton Wawen Primary School, and St Mary’s Henley-in-Arden Primary School for their support in welcoming Vicki to their school during her recent placement. Strong, supportive partnerships such as these make a significant difference and we are incredibly grateful for their time and support which has been given so generously.
Looking ahead, this term promises to be full of fun, friendship, and fond farewells. We are excited to meet reception teachers, attend taster days, and before long, we will be practicing our skills for sports day and celebrating our preschoolers at their graduation, a truly special milestone.
