Singing and sparkles, lights and laughter. It may have been very cold outside, but we were having fun inside decorating, redecorating and then redecorating again the Christmas tree. Full party fun was underway, all the practice during our sessions of music and movement, transferring foam blocks round a circle, stopping and starting when we hear a sound and balancing on one leg transitioned into traditional party games. The excitement and joy as each of the children experienced playing pass the parcel, paper unwrapped, becoming puppets to take home. Magical moments as they danced along to the music, the concentration evident as they tried oh so hard not to move during Musical Statues. Then, after the games came the party lunch. Party crowns worn with pride, made with care and enthusiasm, as they all enjoyed the end of term celebration.
This celebration was made extra special as many of our children's parents and carers were able to join us for Christmas activities and singing. Great fun was had pouring and scooping making our own environmentally friendly reindeer food, crafting sparkly tree decorations, making our own stockings and the ever-favourite biscuit decorating. Crafting complete, we then joined together to sing our favourite Christmas songs. It was an incredibly special day with so much fun had by all. A big thank you to all who joined us, crafting, singing and enjoying the mince pies and punch.
This week we also had the privilege of hosting one of the Claverdon Advent Windows. On Monday the 5th of December we welcomed members of Claverdon Church, local villagers and previous and current Stepping Stones families to switch on our window whilst singing. Made by all the children, we celebrated the hymn 'Little Jesus, sweetly sleep'.
A huge thank you to all our past and present families for their continuing support. The strong relationships we have built provide a solid foundation for our children's learning; and an integral part of being awarded Outstanding in every area. We are all so incredibly proud and overjoyed to celebrate the recognition that we are providing an outstanding early years provision to our community and most importantly to our children and their families, enabling them to achieve their potential.
From everyone here at Stepping Stones, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2023!
