The run up to Christmas is always such a special time here at Stepping Stones and this year it didn’t disappoint. Christmas parties, making decorations, visits from Father Christmas and Emmy the Elf and not forgetting our Festive family afternoon.
The hall was bustling with the children and their families when we hosted our Festive family afternoon. Mums, Dads, Carers, staff, and children all got into the Christmas spirit taking part in all the different festive activities set out for them. Wendy helped the children create Snowmen biscuits with delicious marshmallows, Steph created beautiful Christmas wreaths whilst Julia and Tracey coordinated the Candy canes and Christmas Tree crafts. The children were so excited to have their loved ones with them as they moved around each station getting involved in each activity and being creative. Glue, glitter, and sparkles were very much the order of the day! The time flew by and before we knew it the time had come for Tracey to lead us all in the Christmas sing-a-long. Voices singing ‘When Santa got stuck up the Chimney’ and ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ filled the room along with the smell of warm mince pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine leaving us filled with festive cheer and ready for Christmas.
